About
Who We Are
Our Aims
To improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with wound and skin integrity problems.
To provide and encourage best-practice wound management across all health care settings.
To be a recognised voice at national and local level in any issues relating to wound healing or maintaining skin integrity.
To participate in relevant or appropriate national and international forums and guideline development.
How we will achieve our aims
We focus on education and professional development at a national and local level, as well as fostering and encouraging an evidence-based approach to wound management. We support education and professional development by awarding member-only scholarships and support innovation in wound management with an annual research grant, available to both members and non-members alike. We hold regular local education sessions and study days, organised by Area Coordinators, and a biennial national conference.
NZWCS Structure
Branches
We have thirteen branches or areas. All areas have an Area Coordinator and a National Committee member. The Area Coordinator is responsible for coordinating meetings and seminars for the local members, while the National Committee member represents each branch at a national level. In some areas, these duties are undertaken by the same volunteer. If you wish to contact your local area coordinator please email the administrator using the contact form on this website.
